Flickering Lights

This is the most common electrical issue we see. Firstly, make sure the lightbulb is tightly screwed in. If that doesn’t work, replace it with a new one. If replacing the bulb doesn’t seem to work, the most likely cause is a bad connection. Fixing any wiring issues must be performed by a licensed electrician, so call Sparc Electrical.

Burnt-Out Lightbulbs

Lightbulbs burning out quickly are another sign of electrical issues. Most likely, the problem is with the bulb itself. Another cause could be your property is receiving too much power than your lightbulb is designed to handle, shortening its life span. Replacing the lightbulbs in your house with ones that can receive a higher voltage might solve the problem. If not give Sparc Electrical a buzz.

Sparcing Electrical Outlets

Plugging appliances into sockets can occasionally cause a few sparks to fly and this can be a sign of a much bigger electrical problems. When an outlet gets too hot, they can melt away the protective coating on the wires, causing electricity to short through uncovered wires. This can be an electrocution and fire risk and needs to be dealt with immediately by a licensed electrician such as Sparc Electrical.

Safety Switches Frequently Trip

Every homeowner deals with tripped safety switches sometimes, but if they trip all the time, this can be a serious problem. For example, circuits could be overloaded or your switchboard could be old and unable to handle the demands of all your appliances and devices. Whatever is causing your safety switches to trip, it’s important to have them inspected by a qualified electrician as soon as possible.

Damaged & Frayed Wires

Make sure you look out for damaged, frayed, and exposed wires. These put you and your loved ones at risk of electrocution and can start an electrical fire. You may notice black or brown stains or a nasty burning smell which indicate damaged wiring. If your home has damaged wires, make sure to get a Master Electrician like Sparc Electrical replace them immediately.

Buzzing Sounds & Foul Odors

Sometimes, when there’s electrical issues, you might smell it or hear it before you actually see it. If you notice a burning smell coming out of a socket, call a licensed electrician immediately. Power points and appliances normally should make little or no noise, however when issues are present, buzzing sounds can occur. If you hear a sound like this from any of your power points, call in the professional electricians at Sparc Electrical straight away.
